The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) has revised the guidelines for International Cooperation (lC) Scheme 2018. As per the new guide lines, the provision for international component in the budget of MATU, MAS, MPDA and CVY Schemes has been merged with the IC Scheme. The maximum ceiling of financial assistance for one overseas event is hiked to Rs.50 lakh and any relaxation of this ceiling can be approved by Secretary, MSME.
The main objectives of assistance under the IC Scheme are technology infusion or upgradation of Indian MSMEs, modernization of facility and export promotion. The scheme would cover activities like: Visit and participation of MSME delegations and organisations in international exhibitions, conferences and workshops etc. for exploring new technology, upgradation of existing process, JVs, improving market of MSMEs products, etc. Holding international conferences, workshops and mega exhibitions on MSME in India by the Industry Associations or Govt. organizations etc. Under the scheme, the financial assistance to one organization would normally be restricted to two events in a financial year. Selection of the MSME units for availing the benefits would be done through a“Score Card”.
